Welcome to the Riebeek Valley Directory of Information for Visitors, incorporating the towns and areas of Riebeek West, Riebeek Kasteel, Riebeeksrivier and Hermon. Nestling on the slopes of its own mountain, the dramatic Kasteelberg, the surrounds are wheatlands, vineyards and olive groves - creating a distinctive touch of the Mediterranean in Africa. Only an hour from Cape Town, you will love the rural atmoshere of these quaint villages with a wide range of choice in accommodation, places to eat and drink, opportunities to do a bit of retail therapy or taste the delicious local wine, olives and other products. Plan to visit our Olive Festival in May or the Shiraz and Art Weekend in September - celebrating the wine, olives, food and culture of the area. Make this your base and explore beautiful beaches, majestic mountains, world renowned wine routes, the Karoo and the Mother City, all within an hour or two's drive from the valley (See map).

Riebeek Olove Festival 2015

The Olive Emporium located in the center of Riebeek Kasteel, will play host to local South African Olive producers with a wide array of produce to sample and to purchase - a feast of olives, all under one roof. The well-known Riebeek Valley wines from the local cellars, artisanal beers, an abundance of good local food and live entertainment will be available at the Emporium throughout the weekend.

From the centralised Olive Emporium make your way on one of the free shuttles and tractor trips to the other participating venues were a wide array of olive produce, olive body products, entertainment, food and good old fashioned and down to earth, Riebeek hospitality awaits you throughout the weekend

An Olive Passport, valid for the entire weekend, will give you access to the participating wine farms, the Olive Emporium and the Olive Boutique. Purchase your passport, at a cost of R70 per person, online via www.webtickets.co.za or on the day at any of the participating venues, including the Olive Emporium. Tasting glasses and tasting coupons will be available to purchase throughout the weekend at these participating venues.
