Coming to the beautiful Riebeek Valley with it’s quaint villages offer some of the best opportunities for any photo enthusiast. There’s always something that catches the eye. If it’s not the amazing landscapes and mountain ranges, it’s the historic buildings and amazing street photography opportunities. Not to mention the wildlife!
Kasteelberg offers some amazing hikes ideal for those who love’s birdlife and views from high up. Several Species of falcon, eagles and owls can be spotted. If vineyards and olive acres are your thing, even that’s very unique through the lens, and ever changing.
The valley hosts some of the most scenic landscapes due to the natural beauty of the Witsenberge, the Cedarberg in the distance and our own Kasteelberg mountain.
Every month is different; Summertime offers green vineyards contrasting against the earthy tones of the grasslands, or wheat fields. Winter is very special when these landscapes are transformed with luscious vegetation. Canola and wheat fields paint the landscapes with greens and yellows, and if you’re lucky, you can catch such a scene against a snowy mountain range.
Springtime off course bursts with colour. Wild flowers, butterflies, birds, frogs, you name it comes alive! One can easily take 50 pictures just standing in one place and get something else every time. It’s no wonder we have so many weddings in the valley… it’s not only the bride and groom that is picturesque, but also our stunning Valley.
